Jim Gleason: A Study in Brass

The exhibition A Study in Brass by Jim Gleason is on view June-July 2024, with an artist reception June 13.

While stranded during a typhoon in Okinawa in the Marine music shop, Jim Gleason’s love for music and craftsmanship led him to repurpose instruments into lamps, later evolving into sculptures inspired by books, movies, and concerts. The materials Jim uses start out as auditory stimulants at the end of their musical life which he transforms into visual statements. Come in and join Jim on a journey through his fantasy world.

Artists Reception will be held on June 13 at 5:30 p.m. Works on view June 4-July 26.
